The Flower Moon in Scorpio exacted early this afternoon of May 1st, 2026, at 1:23 EST, ruled by Mars in its yang home of Aries, amidst a large spread holding love and death planets in the dispatch of a simmering holocene.
While Mars stands in the “Virtue” of the Ram, Saturn is still amidst the first face of its fall in Aries where Neptune resides far longer — their proximity and entanglement an inspiration and malaise, a weight in heating oceans that hold sterile warships and swallow sickening coral.
Yet the clouds swell, trees flush and this umbral Full Moon in Scorpio implies its constant polarity… Taurus, the Eden-like bounty of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, bearing blossoms that come ever from soil found berry-sweet and bloodied at once.
The fixity of Taurus and Scorpio implies stasis yet transformation, stubbornness yet also what yields to such drive… the entangled dance of bloom and decay synonymous with our own little deaths and regenerations without and within. This Full Flower Moon in Scorpio calls for heart-centered differentiation between release and embrace, of what stories we must let go of to further lock in, of which battles are meant for setting down and which are worth waiting out the fight.
With this Sun/Moon axis squaring Pluto in Aquarius, days from stationing on May 6th, there is perhaps a cool perch amidst the storm lending perspective to Luna’s fire-water as she answers to Mars in Aries, the red planet dignified yet sat amidst a fevered outer planet spread. A loosening trine from Venus in Gemini to Pluto in Aquarius holds some ingenuity and efficiency perhaps, in seeking to reconcile what has been shaken up.
A brassy Mars-Jupiter square will exact on May 4th, which in stride with Pluto’s station two days later will highlight themes of war and peace, power and control, nurture and aggression, setting the stage for further fireworks later in the month.
Despite the inflammatory elements, there seems also to be a kind of patience, a fixed staying power, to the way in which we face our trials and stand our ground at present — even with the sense there are seen and unseen fuses close to ignition. Mercury conjunct Chiron in Aries grants a mix of confrontation, yet of communicating from a wound and the desire to heal it even as new blood vessels come to form in re-injured scar tissue.
Desire and attachment, love and lust, touch and grip, taste and the clench of jaws, blood and blossom, cum and compost, Eden and some Hadean river beneath the ground in a mythos not so far away… which sign can be relegated to just one half? Inextricably entangled, Taurus and Scorpio are.
Reaching through the one for the other makes up the stuff of this axis and its divine staring contest… seek deeply, reach through, and hold the paradox with passion.
